Elechi vows for sharper Go Round performance after World Cup
Go Round currently sit one point above the drop zone in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) which is currently on a break due to the World Cup in Russia, their head coach Ngozi Elechi is certain his team can climb further up the log.
Elechi explained that all his team need to do when the league resumes on July 18 is to give full concentration to their upcoming matches starting with the home tie against Katsina United at the Krisdera Hotel Stadium in Omoku.
The ‘Dare The Lions’ trainer is hinging his hope on a good start against Katsina United after the World Cup break to give them a foothold on the bottom-four of FC Ifeanyiubah, Sunshine Stasr, Yobe Desert Stars and Heartland.
He also believes a win from the Katsina United game will lift them closer to the top-half of the standings and a chance to dream of keeping their place in the top division in their debut season.
“If we win against Katsina United in our next game we will have 32 points and may not be far off from the teams at the top. All we need to do is to concentrate. Every game is important for Go Round.
“I am confident that in the second round, Go Round will do well,” Elechi said to the Omoku club media.
Go Round gave themselves a lift going into the break with a 1-0 success over league leaders Lobi Stars but will now focus on three tough fixtures to follow against Katsina United (home), Nasarawa United (away) and Rivers United (home).
